Wonderland Nursery Perth, Friday, 7th October, 2011
Staff and children at Little Einstein’s in Perth supported Jeans for Genes Day today Friday, 7th October 2011 by wearing jeans to the nursery. They also had a raffle and one lucky winner won the hamper with lots of different goodies to enjoy and also held a cake and candy stall.
The after school children also helped out by visiting local businesses and selling some cakes.
Jeans for Genes Day is an annual fundraising event for children with genetic disorders. Individually genetic disorders are rare but they affect 1 in 25 children born in the UK – more than 30,000 babies each year.
Little Einstein’s Kindergarten Limited, which owns and operates seven nurseries throughout Scotland was very proud to be taking part in Jeans for Genes Day.
Managing Director, Arti Poddar said: “This charity provides funding for the care and support of children with genetic disorders and also helps to fund research into genetics and the development of effective treatments and cures. I am very proud of the staff, children and their families and we know the money raised is going to a very worthwhile cause.”
