Hillside Nursery, Monday, 18th June, 2012
The children at Hillside Crèche, 15 Hillside Road, Mansewood, Glasgow will be taking part in the Big Toddle to raise money for Barnardo`s. This year our Toddle event will take place from 18th-22nd June.
The Barnardo’s Big Toddle is the UK’s biggest charity event for children aged 0 - 5. The Big Toddle is a sponsored walk for toddlers that help the UK’s most disadvantaged under 5s. Each year, hundreds of thousands of children get ready to take part in this short sponsored walk and have great fun with their friends. The theme for this year is "Superheroes".
Hillside Crèche, which is owned and managed by Little Einstein’s Kindergarten Limited is registered for up to ‘66’ 0-3 year olds. The nursery is open 52 weeks a year from 8.00am to 6.00pm and is registered with the Care Inspectorate and take pride in working closely with them in order to provide the best care to the children of our nursery. We also accommodate ages 2-5 year old children at our sister nursery Hillside Clubhouse on the same street.
Lindsay McGarrity, Crèche Manager said: “The children have made their Big Toddle sign which is displayed in the garden and having lots of fun making superhero masks for their Big Toddle this week. All the children have been invited to dress up as their favourite superhero and will be doing various activities throughout the week, as well as the Toddle around the garden and will each receive a medal for their efforts. The children have been given sponsor forms to take home and we’re hoping to raise as much money for Barnardo`s as possible.”
The nurseries’ owner, Ms. Arti Poddar said: “The Big Toddle is the perfect adventure to help children discover and learn exciting new things while having lots of fun. Raising money for a good cause like Barnardo’s can give children a real sense of pride and achievement – and they can have fun on the way too. First class education and care for every child is at the heart of our mission and together with my new team I relish the opportunity to drive our services forward to become a standard-setter for the nursery sector in Scotland.”
Little Einstein’s currently employs 150 staff across its 7 nurseries, registered and caring for up to 500 children at any one time.
