Ninewells Welcome Herman the Friendship Cake

The children at Ninewells are taking part in an experiment making a friendship over the next ten days. We have received Herman the friendship cake recipe from a parent. We do not cook the mixture or put it in the fridge, it stays on the kitchen worktop and we add ingredients or stir it every day.
The children are really excited plus Niamh, one of the children will take Herman home with her over the weekend and look after it so it does not die. Herman will be divided into four portions on Thursday, 3rd May. The nursery will keep one portion to carry on the experiment because the children are really enjoying it and we will have a fresh cake every ten days. Two parents will be passed a portion each and the nursery will cook the fourth portion.
On Friday, 4th May Herman will be going on a holiday to a warmer climate, the oven is his favourite. When Herman returns he will be enjoyed by all the children at the nursery. This is a great way to get parents involved in the nursery as we then pass on the recipe for them to try.
